Niles Summer Concert

July 6 and 7, 2006

We were honored to play for the City of Niles at the summer concert series. We had a beautiful summer night and a great crowd. All was cool except for one little problem. Ten minutes (of course) before we began, all electrical power in the area shut down. It turns out that a transformer blew. So Roger grabbed his Martin acoustic and he and Mark started walking around the crowd unplugged. When it was obvious that the utility company would be unable to remedy the problem that evening, Emma joined us with her Turkish Darkuba and Bill brought some drums and cymbals down and away we went. We played acoustically for two hours to the best group of folks we have ever encountered at a concert. They seemed to understand the situation, wanted to have a good time, and were gracious enough to stay with us. Special Thanks to Rainbow Guitar Joe who joined us for some Dylan and Prine songs but also graciously loaned Mark his acoustic guitar.

The following day, with some help from the City and the utility company, TMW returned to the riverfront and rocked an impromptu crowd with a free PLUGGED concert. Thanks Niles!
